My wiki:Autoconfirmed users
Autoconfirmed users are a special group of users on Earthpedia who have passed a threshold for certain privileges and rights. These users are typically granted additional permissions automatically after meeting specific requirements, such as being registered for a certain amount of time and having made a minimum number of edits.
Criteria for Autoconfirmation[edit]
In order to become an autoconfirmed user on Earthpedia, the following criteria must generally be met:
- Account age: The user must have had their account for at least 4 days.
- Edit count: The user must have made at least 10 edits to Earthpedia.
Once a user meets these requirements, their account will automatically be granted the status of "autoconfirmed," which comes with certain additional privileges.
Privileges of Autoconfirmed Users[edit]
Autoconfirmed users are granted several privileges, including:
- Ability to edit protected pages: These users can edit pages that are semi-protected or fully protected, where editing is restricted to more experienced users.
- Ability to upload files: Autoconfirmed users are allowed to upload files to Earthpedia, subject to the site's content policies.
- Ability to move pages: Autoconfirmed users can move (rename) pages, provided that the page is not locked or highly protected.
Limitations and Responsibilities[edit]
While autoconfirmed users have additional privileges, they are also expected to follow Earthpedia's guidelines and rules. Misuse of these privileges, such as disruptive editing or uploading inappropriate content, can lead to temporary or permanent revocation of these rights.
Additionally, autoconfirmed users are not granted administrative rights, which are only given to trusted users who pass a more stringent selection process.
How to Become Autoconfirmed[edit]
Becoming an autoconfirmed user is a process that happens automatically after meeting the necessary criteria. Users do not need to apply for this status. It is important for users to focus on contributing constructively to Earthpedia, as the more helpful and productive the contributions, the more likely it is that they will continue to earn trust within the community.
